Fun and Fitness for the 40-Something

When I was in grad school, I spent a quarter in D.C. writing for the Religion News Service, covering a variety of religious, spiritual and ethics topics. It was really fascinating and encompassed a far broader swath of issues than you might expect. So this story about a gym “that meshes prayer and push-ups” caught my eye. I think the interviewees overestimate the sexual overtones of regular gyms—for example, I’ve never heard anyone yell, “Daddy’s got a new set of pipes!”—but it’s still an interesting read for a Sunday.
