The 10 healthiest party foods

The Fitness magazine web site has a holiday party guide slide show that offers guidance on surviving the holidays without the annual weight gain. It recommends the following “low-calorie finger foods” (click through to read their reasoning for each selection).

1)   Bruschetta

2)   Smoked salmon on toasts

3)   Salsa

4)   Guacamole (read here about my favorite brand of guac)

5)   Shrimp cocktail (not to get all Seinfeld here, but why is it called “cocktail,” anyway?)

6)   Veggies and dip

7)   Chicken kabobs

8)   Sushi

9)   Fruit and cheese

10)  Mixed nuts

I like just about everything on the list—the pinkness of salmon still freaks me out—so I guess I’m set … except for that whole portion control thing …

    Where does Chex Mix (the kind without bugles) fit in? I’m worried about my recent gorging on it.
